(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Federal Minister for Education Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali on Monday urged the civil society, political parties and media to join hands for weeding out terrorism and extremism from the country.
He was addressing at a one-day seminar on “Role of Educational Broadcasters in Eradication of Growing Tendencies of Intolerance and Violence in the Society,” organized at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Sunday.
“The miscreant elements are trying to make Pakistan as Republic of fear in the name of religion. Islam is the peace of love, tolerance and brotherhood and there is need to promote the true spirit of Islamic teachings,” Aseff said.
“Majority of the Pakistanis are good Muslims and they love Islam. Some rulers continued to pursue their own agendas in the past for which we paid heavily,” he said.
Appreciating the efforts of Educational Broadcasters, Aseff said that this forum is playing excellent role in creating peace loving society besides educational prospects.
This forum should not only be limited to the Radio rather extended to the level of Television and media.
Sardar Aseff said: “we are trying to keep curriculum as federal subject and discussing the issue with the Constitutional Reform Committee”.
About National Education Policy (NEP), the minister said that there are some flaws in the policy and the government will work for its improvement.
